How PNGIBC is structured.
The Council is governed by its Constitution and managed by an elected Executive Committee. Day-to-day affairs are guided by office bearers, supported by sector-focused National Industry Groups and sub-committees formed as the Council's work requires.
Four Office Bearers - President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary - together with up to five additional Committee Members.
Held within three months of financial year end to elect the Executive Committee, receive the President's Annual Report and audited accounts, and appoint the auditor.
The Executive Committee may form sub-committees and National Industry Groups to advance sector-specific bilateral engagement.
Four classes of membership.
As set out in the Constitution, PNGIBC admits members across four classes - reflecting individuals, businesses, government and institutional nominees, and those recognised for distinguished service to the bilateral relationship.
An individual engaged in, or interested in, trade and commerce between PNG and India.
A business (incorporated or otherwise) engaged in PNG India trade and commerce.
A nominee of a government department, university or similar institution from either country.
Conferred for distinguished and meritorious service to the PNG India business community.
